Mercury Summer Stock Presents SUNSET BOULEVARD, Now thru 7/26
Andrew Lloyd Webber's glorious musical, the award-winning SUNSET BOULEVARD, will get a new production at Mercury Summer Stock from today, July 11-26, 2014.
Based on the Billy Wilder film with Gloria Swanson, the musical version of Sunset Boulevard, starring renowned Soprano Helen Todd, features a lush score by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Christopher Hampton and Don Black. The musical, directed and choreographed by MSS Artistic Director Pierre Brault, features the hit songs "With One Look", "As If We Never Said Goodbye" and "The Perfect Year".
SUNSET BOULEVARD weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Silent movie star Norma Desmond (Todd) longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of "talkies." Her glamour has faded in all but her mind. When she meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis (Cleveland actor Brian Marshall), their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to an unforgettable tale of love, lust and sweet Hollywood revenge. SUNSET BOULEVARD plays in Notre Dame College's Regina Hall July 11-26. All seats under $20!
