Beck Center for the Arts and the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) present Razzle Dazzle XI: True Colors Tour, 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7, and a 3:30 pm matinee performance on Saturday, May 7 in the Beck Center Music-Armory Building.

Cast and crew members are participants in the Rocky River Adult Activities Center's (AAC) inclusive musical theater program, consumers served by CCBDD and Rocky River AAC, and community volunteers. They will skip, sway and dance their way through Green Acres looking for our Pink Cadillac in the Purple Rain. You'll see them hop, bop and boogie to that Old Black Magic and before you know it we'll all be dreamin' of those Nights in White Satin! Every dance is a colorful texture created by music from every genre and all eras.

This year Razzle Dazzle welcomes special performer and musician Ben Monkaba of the Berkshire Hills Music Academy and Friday evening's show will also feature a musical performance by the Rocky River and Maple Heights Adult Activities Centers' Choirs.

Tickets for the opening night performance on May 6 are $15 and benefit the Creative Arts Therapies program at the Beck Center. A post-show reception includes a meet-and-greet with the performers, a Chinese raffle, and other prize giveaways. Tickets may be purchased online at www.beckcenter.org, by calling 216.521.2540 x10, and at the door.

The performances on Saturday, May 7 are free and open to the public with doors opening 20 minutes prior to the show.

"Razzle Dazzle is always a much anticipated event each year at the Beck Center," said Ed Gallagher, Beck's director of education and Creative Arts Therapies. "This is a wonderful collaboration. Cast members of all abilities come together to create an engaging and entertaining show. We are proud of everyone involved and truly value our partnership with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities."

Creative arts therapies are the prescribed use of the arts, therapeutically, to facilitate change or to maintain functioning, which contribute to the quality of life. Music and art therapists serve people of all ages with special needs. In therapy, the arts are used to encourage personal growth so all individuals may further develop skills that help maximize their potential.

One of the region's largest arts organizations, Beck Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that offers professional Theater Productions, arts education programming in dance, music, theater, visual arts, early childhood, and creative arts therapies for special needs students, and gallery exhibits featuring regional artists.
