The 2009-10 Small Non-Profit Series, a sequence of discussions focusing on issues related to the management of small non-profit organizations, begins on Weds., Oct. 7 from 4:30-6 p.m. The first event of the year focuses on "Romancing the Board," how to strengthen relationships between board and staff members. The discussion will be led by Marcie Goodman, Executive Director of the Cleveland International Film Festival, and Janus Small, President of Janus Small Associates.

Small Non-Profit Series events are also scheduled for Tues., Nov. 10, 2009, during which veteran blogger George Nemeth will discuss the use of social media, and for Tues., Feb. 23, 2010. A wide range of topics are covered during the series; last year's discussions focused on technology, outcome measurement and communications. Audio files of past discussions are available online at ideacenteratplayhousesquare.org.

All Small Non-Profit Series programs are presented in the Idea Center® at PlayhouseSquare (1375 Euclid Ave.). Complimentary refreshments and parking in The PlayhouseSquare garage are provided. To make reservations to attend the Oct. 7 seminar or for additional information about the event, contact Stephanie Reed (216-771-4444 x. 3258 or reeds@playhousesquare.org). There is no charge for admission.

The Small Non-Profit Series is a joint initiative of PlayhouseSquare and WVIZ/PBS and 90.3 WCPN ideastream®.
