Resident Sketch Writer - Florida Studio Theatre

Florida studio theatre is seeking an experienced Sketch Writer to work in residence. The individual should have a strong improv background and at least 5 years of sketch comedy experience. The individual will be responsible for writing sketch material to be performed weekly in FST’s Comedy Theatre, Bowne’s Lab. In addition, the Sketch Writer will work in FST’s New Play Development and writing bridge material for FST Cabaret musical revues. FST develops a minimum of 3 new revues each season for its Winter Cabaret Season. The Cabaret Theatre is an anchor program at FST and plays to 50,000 attendees with over 500 performances annually. The Sketch Writer will write one musical sketch comedy piece every two years in concert with FST Improv Producer and Staff. A strong background in improv, theatre, and experience teaching both improv and sketch writing is desired.



Florida Studio Theatre is a five theatre complex, producing 19 productions each year, plus an active improv theatre troupe.
