MARKETING MANAGER (Advertising/Audience Development)
Theatre Bay Area, one of the largest regional performing arts service organizations in the nation, is restructuring its marketing team to comprise of two (2) new full-time, salaried Marketing Manager positions with benefits: one with a focus on communications and marketing TBA’s programs; and the other focusing on advertising and audience development. Both positions will operate as a team to promote and market Theatre Bay Area, will work closely on a new branding campaign with a local consultant, and will report to the organization’s Managing Director.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Marketing and Advertising
·
Design and implement strategies to promote and market Theatre Bay Area, increase audience engagement, and encourage greater public participation in its various programs.
·
Lead efforts to develop and integrate effective, consistent, and accurate messaging, reinforcing Theatre Bay Area’s brand, through multiple channels.
·
Responsible for day-to-day functions of multi-platform advertising program.
·
Oversee delivery of existing advertising agreements for display advertising, email banners, web, print and e-classifieds, and poster/display sales at the TIX Booth.
·
Manage and solicit new advertising sales in addition to online store sales and collection and placement of ads.
·
Manage and monitor marketing budgets. (INCOME projections)
·
Oversee the day-to-day needs of the Audience Database (formerly Bay Area Big List)
Communications
·
Act as primary project manager for TBA “audience” communications and oversee content creation and delivery of email blasts, newsletters (e.g., “Theatergoer” and “Theatrelover”), and other online
communications.
·
Write TBA marketing copy including e-newsletters, website, email, print, and online ads for TBA membership, programming and events.
·
Design public relations and engagement initiatives to raise the profile of Theatre Bay Area, its programs, and the wider field.
·
Research industry trends to analyze internal campaigns and improve e-marketing efforts.
Ticketing
·
Implement business development strategies to support the growth of the TIX program (in-person and online) and enhance advertising sales.
·
Serve as TBA liaison with TIX Booth program and its staff.
·
Oversee and maintain all TIX Booth, tixbayarea.org and Theatregoer functions, including on-time delivery of TIX-related communications.
·
Maintain relationship with active ticketing partners including Goldstar and TDC.
·
Acquisition of direct discounted tickets.
·
Manage ongoing analysis and reporting of user data set.
Qualifications
·
Knowledge of Bay Area performing arts community with high interest in theatre. Passion for marketing, sales and customer service.
·
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful strategies for reaching diverse audiences.
·
Minimum 4 year experience in a relevant field.
·
Exceptional project management, strategic thinking and time-management skills.
·
Superior written communication skills across all areas of marketing with strong editing skills.
·
Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator) and the ability to design for both print and web.
·
Experience working with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Mailchimp (or equivalent).
·
Ability to work as a self-starter in a fast-paced, incredibly dynamic, team-based environment with limited resources and lots of passion.
