Individual Giving Manager - The New Group

LISTING INFORMATION

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for managing the successful execution of the Patron Ensemble program, annual appeals, acknowledgements, and all other individual giving activities, as well as overseeing the planning and execution of The New Group’s special events, including the annual Gala. This position will also play an integral role in the strategy development and daily operations of a major capital campaign to develop a new multi-venue facility serving as the future permanent home for The New Group. The Individual Giving Manager reports to the Development Director, supervises the Development Associate, and works closely with The New Group Board and external consultants.



Responsibilities include:

Overseeing all individual giving strategies, donor research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

Supervising the creation and distribution of all patron communications and collateral

Planning and execution of all current, and prospective, donor cultivation and special events, including Patron receptions, opening night parties, and the annual Gala

Overseeing event attendance including seating and ticketing and resolving any issues

Providing management reports and monthly financial reconciliations, and assisting with annual cash flow projections, income/expense budgeting and long-term planning

Raising funds for the Capital Campaign and other special initiatives, as they arise

Maintaining the major gifts pipeline and working with the Development Director, Executive Director, and Artistic Director on cultivation strategies for major gifts

Working with, and supporting the activities of, the Board of Directors Development and Capital Campaign Committees



Qualified candidates must be highly-motivated and organized, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, meaningful customer/patron relations experience and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and external vendors. Candidates must also be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects at once, be detail-oriented and work well under deadline, and be friendly, personable, and outgoing. Special events experience preferred; development experience, preferably in a non-profit arts organization, with an annual budget of at least four million dollars ($4M) is a plus.



The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skill in fundraising, management, and leadership, proficiency in finance and accounting as they relate to development, and knowledge of fundraising and information management standards. Candidates must possess a high comfort-level interacting with donors at all levels.



Experience with donor database management software and Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel) are required.



Salary is commensurate with experience and benefits package includes health, dental, 403(b) retirement, and commuter benefit plans.
