Position Summary

Center Theatre Group seeks a Donor Advisor to join the company's Institutional Advancement team, reporting to the Donor Advisor Supervisor. The Donor Advisor will work as part of a team of Donor Advisors, with the Donor Advisor Supervisor, and with other members of the Institutional Advancement department to ensure the success in reaching a Board approved fundraising goal for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2019.



Primary Responsibilities

1. Assist in achieving annual goals through active solicitation of current subscribers, lapsed subscribers, current Inner Circle and Entertainment Circle members, check-off donors and lapsed donors to acquire, renew and upgrade tax-deductible gifts to Center Theatre Group's Annual Fund.

2. Track call outcomes using Center Theatre Group's donor database, Tessitura. Mail, fax and e-mail information to prospective and renewing donors and follow-up with telephone calls as needed to secure donations.

3. Use Tessitura to record note about conversations with donors and prospects, and to confirm donor payment information.

4. Attend scheduled team and department meetings.

5. Follow Institutional Advancement requirements regarding donor and prospect calling schedules and processes.

6. Represent Center Theatre Group to donors, members, and giving prospects in a professional and respectful manner at all times.

7. Possess excellent communication skills in all interactions with donors, prospects, and colleagues.

8. Demonstrate good work habits including but not limited to attendance, following Center Theatre Group workplace policies, being responsive and following through on all donor, supervisor and staff requests.

9. Possess a working knowledge of theatre and Center Theatre Group productions.

10. Must be motivated and a self-starter.

11. Other duties as assigned.



Center Theatre Group provides a dynamic working environment in which duties and responsibilities may change, so all employees are expected to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of their duties. Qualifications

1. Minimum two years of fundraising or sales experience. Experience in phone solicitation, preferably in a non-profit arts environment.

2. Must have the ability to think creatively in crafting effective message points to donors and prospects, and should be able to confidently overcome any objections or reservations about giving to support Center Theatre Group and its programs as they may arise during phone interactions. Must display enthusiasm, dedication, a sense of humor, and a drive to succeed.

3. Donor database experience preferred; experience with Tessitura database is ideal. Must have working knowledge of computers and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, including MS word and Outlook email, and must be able to operate office equipment, including telephones, copiers, and fax machines.

4. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds (i.e. reports, programs, brochures, etc.), sit in a workstation, and type and work with a computer.

5. Must have the ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Background in - or knowledge of - theatre arts preferred, with a proven track record of being self-motivated.



All employees are required to pass a background check.



Compensation

Compensation is a combination of hourly wage and donation-based incentives.
