Brooklyn Youth Chorus is seeking a full-time Design & Digital Media Manager to lead the design and creation of all digital and print materials, including graphic and audio/visual content, and to manage social media. The Design & Digital Media Manager will play an important role in building the organization’s brand, attracting new audiences, and engaging visitors across channels during a time of significant growth in the Chorus’s 27-year history. The ideal candidate will be a creative, collaborative, strategic, yet detail-oriented artist who will maintain and grow a strong visual identity for the organization while engaging a diverse array of constituents through a robust online presence.
The Design & Digital Media Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work in close collaboration with the Founder & Artistic Director and Director of Marketing & Communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Design & Digital Media Manager will:
• Develop a comprehensive and coherent design strategy built on current brand to ensure a cohesive look and feel across all projects and channels to support institutional and departmental goals
• Collaborate with marketing, development, artistic, and program teams to create digital content and print materials to support a full range of projects including performance artwork, concert programs, fundraising appeals, event invitations, and recruitment collateral
• Lead all audio/visual content capture both in a studio environment and/or in the field including rehearsals, performances, and small events
• Keep up with current design, digital, and social media trends and best practices, make recommendations, and implement
• Manage digital audio and video library
• Develop, implement, and analyze all digital content including social media with a goal to drive and grow traffic to Brooklyn Youth Chorus channels
• Create content for and be the voice of Brooklyn Youth Chorus across all social media platforms
• Track and measure digital metrics and implement improvements to increase performance
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-4 years of experience working in design, digital media, and/or social media, prior experience working for nonprofit educational or arts organizations preferred
• Visionary strategist and content producer who is passionate about storytelling
• Successful track record of independently leading creative projects across multiple departments from ideation through implementation
• Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite products including Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Understanding of and appreciation for an engagement-oriented approach to online marketing
• Strong web editorial and social media copy writing ability
• Understanding of the latest digital and social media trends and platforms
• Proven track record of creating professional quality content
• Ability to work collaboratively with many departments while independently managing competing priorities under a single institutional vision
• Knowledge of content management systems, digital asset management, motion graphics, HTML, and audio editing software is a plus
