Cutter/Draper - Arkansas Repertory Theatre

Arkansas Repertory Theatre seeks an experienced Cutter/Draper. Applicants must have a minimum three years practical experience as a Cutter/Draper in professional theatre, with a minimum five years of professional costume construction experience. Responsibilities include patterning, supervising the construction of costumes, fittings and overseeing alterations and reworking of all built, rented or pulled costumes. Candidates must show proficiency in draping, flat patterning and "sculptural" use of fabric. Expertise in creating period, modern and unusual costumes desired. Other requirements include excellent understanding of fabric types, characteristics, uses and limitations as well as working knowledge of costume history. The ideal candidate must excel at meeting deadlines, be dependable, flexible, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills a must. Positive attitude is essential. This is a full-time, year-round salaried position with benefits. Ideal start date is Jan. 2, 2019.
