Hildegard is a new opera by Sarah Kirkland Snider, developed through the Opera Fusion: New Works partnership between Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Set in the 12th century, the narrative explores key events in the life of Hildegard von Bingen, a visionary nun and composer, as she navigates artistic and romantic complexities with her assistant, Richardis von Stade. The workshop will feature performers such as Kiera Duffy and Mikaela Bennett, culminating in a public presentation of excerpts on October 12, 2024. The project is commissioned and produced by Beth Morrison Projects.
