Covedale Center for the Performing Arts will hold Auditions for MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS a rare treasure in musical theatre, and the 09/10 Covedale season opener!

Auditions to be held at the following dates and times:

Saturday, July 25, 2009, 1 - 3 pm for two girls, ages 6 and 12 and Monday, July 27, 2009, 6:30 - 8:30 pm for Adults, Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 6:30 - 8:30 pm for Adults

This is an open call - no appointment necessary.

All auditions will be held at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.

Cast includes age ranges for: two young girls, older teens, adult men and women. Looking for performers with strong singing voice. Non singing dancers should audition as well. Everyone needs to sing at least 16 bars at the audition.

Mr. Alonso Smith -- 40ish, father
Mrs. Anna Smith --40ish, mother
Lon Smith -- 19 college freshman
Rose Smith -- 18
Esther Smith -- 17
Agnes Smith -- 12 year-old tomboyish
Tootie Smith -- smart 6 year old
Grandpa -- Civil War Vet
Katie - - Irish House maid
John Truitt -- the boy next door - 19
Warren Sheffield - - Rose's suitor
Adult Chorus

Young Girl Auditionees (age 6 and age 12) must be able to read, sing and dance.
Adult (16 + years of age) MUST HAVE A PERFORMANCE RESUME to audition and must be able to provide a resume listing theatrical experience.

Please prepare: A song that best represents your voice and range. Be prepared to read from the script and learn a short dance combination as well.

Rehearsals begin Monday, August 17, 2009.

Performance dates: October 1 - 18, 2009. All roles are paid positions.

The Show: MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS is based on the heartwarming movie. Join the Smith family at the 1904 World's Fair, and see how their love and respect for each other is tempered with the genuine humor that can only be generated by such a special family. Memorable musical numbers include The Boy Next Door, A Raving Beauty, The Trolley Song, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Whenever I'm with You and A Day in New York. Suddenly there's a blackout. Imagine yourself standing with the family as the lights from the World's Fair fill the stage; you've never seen such a spectacular panorama in your life!
