Jules Orcullo's *My Dad Never Saw The Beatles* is a musical retelling of a fictional event set in the Philippines in 1966, centered around a daughter striving to fulfill her father's dreams. This play, which earned Orcullo the 2024 Griffin Award for outstanding new Australian playwriting, reflects themes of family, sacrifice, and cultural identity. Declan Greene, the Artistic Director of Griffin Theatre Company, praised the work as a unique fusion of playwriting and music theatre. Orcullo, a dramaturg at the Sydney Theatre Company and a co-facilitator of the Watershed Writers program, hopes to craft a narrative rich in the cycles of generosity, gratitude, and grief inherent in family dynamics.
