Gay sketch comedy group White Rainbows debuts its second show, IN GAGA WE TRUST March 5th- March 27th, Fridays at 9 PM at Hydrate nightclub, 3458 North Halsted Street, Chicago IL 60657. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by visiting brownpapertickets.com  or calling 800-838-3006.

Ubiquitous pop singer Lady Gaga serves as a source of inspiration for the material in IN GAGA WE TRUST. Her debut album, The Fame, was released in August, 2008 and featured her first two singles,"Just Dance" and "Poker Face", which became international number-one hits. By the end of 2009, she released her second studio album The Fame Monster, with the global chart-topping lead single "Bad Romance", as well as having embarked on her second headlining tour of the year. To date, she has sold over eight million albums and 35 million singles digitally worldwide.

 Queer identity is a prominent theme in the revue's scenes. "The show is about how gay people relate to each other. It's also about how gay people define themselves versus how other gay people defiNe You," says director Rebecca Marquardt. In one scene a long-term lesbian couple is forced to deal with peer pressure after gay marriage becomes legal. In another scene two gay men in a casual sexual relationship go to couples therapy.

 

 

White Rainbows is a queer-themed sketch group founded in 2009. The cast includes Stanley Chong, Armand Fields, Ever Mainard, Kevin Reader, Matt Utter and Arianna Wheat.
