Underscore Theatre Company closes its 2013 season with an unprecedented interpretation of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. Directed by Underscore newcomer Lauren Lundy and with musical direction by Spencer Meeks, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show Live" runs for four nights in October at the Chopin Theatre at 1543 West Division.

Running for its third consecutive year, 2013's production of the cult-classic-turned-mainstream, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show Live" brings some gears and grunge to the Chopin with a Steampunk theme, in the company's largest and most ambitious production to date. Catapulting off of two previous productions which were called "wild, raunchy, unabashed fun," a "rousing holiday treat," and "not to be missed," Lauren Lundy's directorial debut pulls out all the stops, with live foley sound effects produced STOMP-style by the ensemble, incorporation of the original film, and a newly re-arranged score, with greater soloist emphasis, featuring dueling guitars and updated arrangements in a raw, stripped-down punk-rock style. Join us for the making of a man who's more than just blond hair and a tan--he's got some cogs turning, and we don't mean that metaphorically!

Returning Underscore artists include Nick Kern and Aubrey Stanton, with Leah Tirado reprising her "electric" performance as Magenta. Also featuring Matthew Huston, Mike Mazzocca, Lauren Knutson, Kirk Jackson, Erik Pearson, Taryn Wood, Isaac Loomer, Katy Fattaleh, Michael Donley, Caitlyn Cerza, and Nick Block, with stage management by Drew Donnelly, assistant direction by Aaron Stephenson and Cara Polczynski, choreography by Jon Martinez, lighting design by Joe Watrach, sound design by Aaron Stephenson, scenic design by Greg Pinsoneault, costume design by Taylor Payne, hair and makeup by Underscore vet Sierra White, props by Jimmy Jagos, and music supervision by company member David Kornfeld. The prominently-featured band, "Tim Curry's Revenge," comprises Jerrod Schober on lead guitar, Matthew Ulm on bass, Jon Levitt on drums, and Randy Fleer on keyboards. Rocky is production managed by company member Laura Stratford.

The production runs Thursday, October 24th, Friday, October 25th, Saturday, October 26th at 9pm, and Sunday, October 26th at 6pm. The pre-show runs half an hour and will involve games, contests, and lots of noise. Then stick around for a fully interactive Rocky experience like you've never had before! Prop bags with toilet paper to throw, noisemakers to blow, and lots more will be available for a suggested donation at the door. Tickets are $20 and available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/475866.
