The Chicago Tribune reports that Chicago's downtown Marriott Hotel will host a reading for UNSPEAKABLE, a new play based on the life of legendary comedian Richard Pryor.

Unspeakable recently finished a developmental production at HERE in Manhattan. James Murray Jackson, Jr., the play's co-author and star who received an Outstanding Actor Award for his portrayal of Richard Pryor at the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival, reprises his role in the presentation.

Unspeakable is described as "an unflinching ride through the emotional landscape of comedic legend, Richard Pryor. Experience his rise to super stardom in the shadow of Bill Cosby and his blazingly self-destructive love affair with cocaine and...Jessica."

The non-public performance, set for this Friday, will attempt to secure backers for a Chicago production of the show.
