Multi-Jeff Award-winning theatre company, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre, will kick off its 2012-13 season with Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller'sSmokey Joe's Café on September 24. The season, comprised of two full-length musicals, two cabarets, and a new series, marks Theo Ubique's 15th year-the 10thin historic No Exit Café.

Winner of the 1996 Grammy, the songs in Smokey Joe's Café range from rock & roll to rhythm & blues. The show will reunite director/choreographer Brenda Didier and Musical Director Jeremy Ramey-both of whom won Jeff awards for last season's The Light in the Piazza-along with Jeff-nominated set designer Adam Veness.

The season will continue with Theo Ubique Christmas Cabaret: Joy to the World, comprised of holiday songs, opening November 18. Multi-Jeff-winning Artistic Director Fred Anzevino directs this Theo Ubique original.

In January, Theo Ubique will launch a new arm of programming-a series of one-weekend-only events, ranging from solo singers to duos and larger groups to new musicals in development.

In the Spring, Anzevino tackles Andrew Lloyd Webber'sAspects of Love. Opening March 11, Aspects of Loveis a twisted Gordian knot of a love triangle-a steamy affair takes an unexpected turn, and another 13 years later. Rounding out the season, Anzevino will helm Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Presents: A Cole Porter Songbook, opening June 3, 2013. David Heimann (Time after Time) will choreograph.

All performances will be held at the No Exit Café located at 6970 N Glenwood Ave. "We are thrilled to be entering our tenth season in the intimate No Exit Café with shows featuring classic rock and roll, holiday classics, Webber's operatic score, and the timelessness of Cole Porter," Anzevino said.

Additionally, the 2012-13 season will mark the company's foray into more experimental programming, drawing from its vast reserves of past performers, for its January Cabaret Series, a progression of one-weekend-only performances from new musicals, to cabaret duets and trios.
