Evanston's long-standing vision of a live professional theater company in residence on the north side of Howard Street became much easier to visualize for attendees of Theo Ubique's Second Annual Silver and Gold Celebration on Sunday, October 21. The fundraising gala, which began with hors d'oeuvres, wine and entertainment at the Peckish Pig Restaurant and Brewery, concluded with a "field trip" one block west to view the theatre's new home, which will open to the public on Friday, December 7 with the company's production of the musical THE FULL MONTY.

Structural renovations including new a new HVAC system, new electrical wiring, and construction of a new warming kitchen, bar, dressing room and restrooms are complete.

The gala attendees saw a new facility ready for the company to complete by bringing in furniture, theatrical lighting and sound equipment, as well as a nearly completed new façade. The theatre will have a flexible performance and seating area that will seat approximately 88 patrons - some 30 seats more than the company's previous home - the No Exit Café in Rogers Park. This expanded capacity will allow more audiences to enjoy the company's frequently sold-out shows but maintain the intimacy of the No Exit Café.

In addition to THE FULL MONTY, which will run from December 7, 2018 through January 27, 2019, the company's first season in its new 88-seat home will include the musicals THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY (March 8 through April 21, 2019) and HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (June 14 through July 28, 2019).
