The Second City will hold a benefit for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts tomorrow night, September 6th in the e.t.c. Theater. "Harvey Can't Mess with Texas" will feature performers who hail from areas affected by the storm, as well as an all-star lineup of improvisers joining together to help out the best way Second City knows how...through the power of laughter. 100% of ticket sales will go directly the American Red Cross, as will matching funds donated by The Second City.

"Our Second City family leapt at the chance to help out victims of Harvey. The way our team has stepped up to get this benefit show on stage in a matter of just a couple of days speaks volumes about how committed we are to using art to support and aid the world around us, especially after a disaster as severe as Harveyl," said Andrew Alexander, CEO & Executive Producer of The Second City.

"Being from Beaumont, Texas, it's hard to be stuck here in Chicago. Neighbors and friends have gone out of their way to bring food and water to my 74-year-old mom who lives alone. Many of us at The Second City wanted to do whatever we could to help those affected, and I personally feel compelled to repay the kindness that has been shown to my mother, who stopped to drive a family of strangers home when she saw them carrying supplies in the heat, " said event organizer and Second City Resident Director Anthony LeBlanc, who also serves as Associate Artistic Director of The Second City Training Center.

Texas natives performing include: Robyn Scott, John Sabine, Saurabh Pande, Matt Lusk, and Anthony LeBlanc. Other performers set to appear include Rashawn Nadine Scott, Sayjal Joshi, Dana Quercioli, Rachael Mason, Andrew Knox, Alan Linic, Brooke Breit, Claudia Wallace, Andel Sudik, Norm Holly, and Susan Messing. Mickey Housley, a stand-up originally from Houston, will open.

"Harvey Can't Mess with Texas" will run one night only in Second City's e.t.c Theater on Wednesday, September 6th at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available now at secondcity.com or by calling the box office at (312) 337-3992. Tickets will also be available at the door.
