Is it really "the most wonderful time of the year"? For two weekends over Christmas and New Year's, The Mime Company attempts to find out. With their latest production, Snow Days and Plane Delays: An Evening of Holiday Mime, The Mime Company returns to explore the triumphs and travails of the holiday season in a series of short plays without words. From the fantastical-a living strand of dysfunctional blinking lights-to the mundane-the indignities of holiday air travel-to the quietly tragic-a touching rendering of "The Little Match Girl"-The Mime Company uses the power of physical storytelling to depict the diversity of the holiday experience.

Snow Days and Plane Delays runs December 22 through January 2 at Studio BE in Lakeview with performances on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. The show is appropriate for all ages: adults and children alike can enjoy watching a stuffy Nutcracker ballet devolve into mayhem; or they might see themselves in a family posing for their annual holiday picture.

Directed by longtime company member Amanda Brown and featuring Eliot Monaco, Noah Lepawsky, Brian Pastor, Cat Davidson, and Samantha Mc Donald,
The Mime Company's latest production attempts to challenge preconceptions about the art of mime while offering a fresh take on this unique time of year. For The Mime Company's fans and new initiates alike, Snow Days and Plane Delays promises to be an enchanting way to share in the holiday experience.
