What do Dungeons and Dragons, Shakespeare, struggling composers, and 9 year old kids all have in common? They're a part of The Cuckoo's Theater Project's 2017 - 2018 Season of course! The Cuckoo's Theater Project is excited to announce it's 4th Season, centered around "Choices and Consequences."

Up first, in September, DISTRACTED, a dark comedy by Lisa Loomer, tells the story of a young couple and their son. His teachers and team of doctors say he has ADHD, Dad says he's "just being a kid", and Mama has turned to medical textbooks and meditation. DISTRACTED takes a look at mental health care in the US through the lens of two parents who just want the best for their kid.

Running September 8 - October 7, 2017.

This will be followed by TICK, TICK...BOOM! opening in November. TICK, TICK...BOOM! is an autobiographical musical by the late Jonathan Larson. The story follows Johnny, an aspiring musical theatre composer who begins to worry about aging and lack of success as he nears his 30th birthday. Filled with memorable music, this show takes you on the journey that led to Larson writing his musical theatre mainstay, RENT.

Running November 16 - December 17, 2017.

TCTP is going to kick off spring with SHE KILLS MONSTERS, a dramatic comedy by Qui Nguyen, opening in March. Agnes' teenage sister, Tilly, has died. But that's only the beginning of the story. As Agnes is cleaning out Tilly's room, she discovers a notebook that contains a Dungeons and Dragons quest that Tilly wrote. Agnes unknowingly stumbles into a magical world full of jello monsters, evil cheerleader succubi, and heroic quests as she learns a side of her sister that she never knew.

Running March 16 - April 21, 2018.

The season is going to close with an all new vision of Shakespeare's MEASURE FOR MEASURE. Adapted and directed by TCTP Company Member Sara Carranza, MEASURE FOR MEARE tells the story of a land abandoned by its leader and the strict laws of old being enforced by the new government. Isabella, a future woman of the cloth, must choose between her faith or her family when her brother is found guilty of a crime punishable by death: premarital sex. This production takes this classic and weaves in the culture and vibrance of modern day India.

Running June 15 - July 21, 2018

All performances will take place at Prop Thtr in Avondale, where TCTP is fortunate to be a theatre in residence this season.
