The Auditorium Theatre welcomes Giordano Dance Chicago (GDC) back to its landmark stage as the final performance of the season's "Made in Chicago" Dance Series, Saturday, June 11 at 7:30PM. The company, led by Artistic Director Nan Giordano, returns after last year's dynamic engagement and will perform five works from the company's 157-piece repertory, including Crossing/Lines, Feelin' Good Sweet, Can't Take This Away, Sneaky Pete, and Sing, Sing, Sing. Tickets start at $28, and are available online at AuditoriumTheatre.org, by phone at 312.341.2300, or in-person at the Auditorium Theatre Box Office (50 E. Congress Parkway).

"The 'Made in Chicago' Dance Series is an opportunity for the Auditorium Theatre to showcase some of the country's best dance companies that just happen to be right here in Chicago," says Henry Fogel, the Auditorium Theatre's Interim Chief Executive Officer. "The legacy of Gus Giordano lives on through the eyes of his daughter, Nan Giordano, and Giordano Dance Chicago. It's an honor to have one of America's foremost jazz dance companies perform on our stage."

The evening opens with the audacious Crossing/Lines, a dynamic work choreographed by cutting-edge, Israeli-born choreographer Roni Koresh, known for his driving complexity that challenges endurance and pushes boundaries. This full-company work celebrates life's journey of embracing one's individuality.

Making its second Auditorium Theatre appearance after last January's performance, Feelin' Good Sweet is a sizzling Broadway jazz-inspired full-company work by iconic award-winning choreographer Ray Leeper, whose television credits include So You Think You Can Dance and America's Got Talent.

Can't Take This Away is one of GDC's signature works and one of founder Gus Giordano's favorites. Choreographed by Chicago native Randy Duncan, the work is set for 15 dancers and is presented with live singers.

Sneaky Pete is GDC's newest work, created by award-winning, Chicago-based choreographer Brock Clawson. This intriguing full-company work gives nod to film noir, using Clawson's theater director's sensibilities and unique skill to create fascinating movement narratives.

The evening finale features Sing, Sing, Sing, a timeless all-American Broadway-style classic jazz full-company work. Choreographed by company founder Gus Giordano, dancers in black tails and white gloves give a spirited performance of Giordano's sharp and entertaining jazz dance choreography.

The 2015 - 2016 Dance Season is made possible by the NIB Foundation.
