The Arts Club of Chicago Presents Hedwig Dances' HEDWIGNITES

Hedwignites, Hedwig Dances' annnual gala, celebrates the company's accomplishments and endeavors. Hedwignites 2018: Play + Bauhaus is staged in the adventurous and forward-looking spirit of the Bauhaus modernist movement.

This year Hedwig Dances inaugurates the Hedwig Dance Awards which recognize and celebrate transformational leaders, artists, critics, mentors, and funders who create, illuminate, and nourish contemporary dance. Commissioner Mark Kelly of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will be our special guest that evening and will speak after dinner.

Meet and mingle with the awardees, artists, and collaborators, receive an exclusive preview of the company's newest work Futura, inspired by the Bauhaus modernist movement, and engage in Bauhaus play through table games.

The Hedwig Dances awards will be presented to:

• Laura Molzahn, Dance Writer and Critic, Chicago Tribune, for Dance Advocacy, presented by Tony Adler and Lauren Warnecke
• Jackie Radis, Co-founder and Director, MoMing Dance & Arts Center, for Dance Heritage, presented by Jan Bartoszek
• Ginger Farley, Executive Director, Chicago Dancemakers Forum, for Dance Leadership, presented by Pamela Crutchfield
