Steppenwolf Holds Annual RED AND WHITE BALL, 4/8

By:

Hundreds of Chicago's young arts supporters will gather for a high-energy evening of music, dancing, signature cocktails, delectable food and a silent auction at the Steppenwolf Auxiliary Council's 9th annual Red or White Ball on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 8 pm (7 pm VIP reception). The signature event for the city's most influential young professionals returns to Chicago's unique, eco-chic Salvage One, 1840 W. Hubbard St. Proceeds from the Red or White Ball benefit Steppenwolf for Young Adults: the theater's nationally recognized arts education and outreach programs which annually impact over 15,000 students, teachers and families.

Individual tickets for Red or White Ball 2011 start at $130 and can be purchased online at www.steppenwolf.org/rowb, via e-mail at auxiliarycouncil@steppenwolf.org or by calling (312) 654-5681.

A limited number of $250 VIP tickets are also available and include: an exclusive cocktail reception, gourmet tasting stations (Chef Andrew Brochu from Kith and Kin, Chef Ivan Yuen from Shanghai Palace at the Peninsula Hotel Chicago and Chef Perry Hendrix from Custom House Tavern), enhanced gift bags, access to Steppenwolf artists and VIP status all night long.

The 2011 Red or White Ball Co-Chairs include Kristopher J. Anderson, Kim Davis and Stephen C. George.

Last year's Red or White Ball attracted more than 550 guests and raised more than $90,000 for Steppenwolf for Young Adults. SYA is a comprehensive educational initiative that annually serves 15,000 students, teachers and families. The program provides access to the theatre for a broad base of Chicago's youth, ages 12 - 19, and schools throughout the Chicago metropolitan area with a strong focus on partnering with Chicago Public Schools.
