Step Up Productions is pleased to continue its 2013-14 season with the world premiere of Joshua Rollins' dark comedy DARLIN', directed by Ilesa Duncan, playing March 7 - April 13, 2014 at The Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are available online at www.stepupproductions.org and www.athenaeumtheatre.org or by calling The Athenaeum Box Office at (773) 935-6875. The press performances are Tuesday, March 11 and Thursday, March 13 at 8 pm.

DARLIN' features Elizabeth Antonucci, Elizabeth Birnkrant, Jake Carr, Robert Hardaway, Todd Michael Kiech, Bradford Lund, Annie Neal and John Wehrman.

It's the middle of the night and Clementine just checked in to a no name motel off of I-80 in Iowa. There she meets a mixed bag of regulars with their own secrets - Smith the caretaker, Dee the cleaning lady, Troy the ex-quarterback, Kenny the drug dealer - who all want to know what she's running from and what the story is behind the two child seats in the back of her car.

Partial proceeds from DARLIN' will benefit the House of Good Shepherd. As part of its mission, Step Up Productions donates a portion of its proceeds to organizations in and around Chicago that support issues often highlighted in its productions.

The production team for DARLIN' includes: Robert Groth & Jenniffer Thusing (set design), Raquel Adorno (costume design), Mike Durst (lighting design), Joe Court (sound design), Lisa Griebel (props design), Dorthea Walstrom (makeup design), Brandy Reichenberger (dramaturg), Catherine Allen (production manager) and Shandee Vaughan (stage manager).
