Steep Theatre will be transferring their hit show Moment to Chicago's Theater Wit for a six week extension of the previously sold-out production. This will be the second extension of the show. Moment's initial six-week run sold out within days of the first reviews hitting the stands and the company responded by adding both extra seating and three weeks of performances. The resulting 1,200 additional tickets were snatched up in a matter of days.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM and can be purchased through Steep's website, www.steeptheatre.com, or by calling Theater Wit's box office at (773) 975-8150.

Moment's run at Steep will close on Sunday, September 16th and will promptly begin previews at Theater Wit on September 21st. The show officially reopens at Wit on Friday, September 28th. Moment will be the first Steep production that has transferred to another theater and the first time the company will perform outside of its own digs in a decade. Coincidentally, the last show Steep produced as an itinerant company in 2002 was performed at Bailiwick Theatre, which occupied the same space currently occupied by Theater Wit.

Moment must close at Steep Theatre's home to make way for the company's first show of their 12th season, Robert Holman's Making Noise Quietly, which opens Thursday, October 4th. Mr. Holman's body of work has served as an inspiration to many of today's most exciting playwrights, including Steep favorites Simon Stephens (Harper Regan, Pornography) and David Eldridge (Festen, Under the Blue Sky). Steep brings Mr. Holman's seminal work, Making Noise Quietly, to the Chicago stage for the first time in 23 years. Erica Weiss, Associate Artistic Director of Route 66 Theatre Company and director of their 2011 hit Twist of Water, will be making her Steep directing debut.

Steep Theatre has become known as a home for hard-hitting, finely tuned ensemble work. With each production, the company has shepherded a growing community of audiences and stakeholders into bold new territories of story and performance. Over the years, Steep productions have been named to TimeOut Chicago's Top Ten Shows of the Year list five times, the Tribune's Top Ten List once, the Tribune's Best of the Fringe list twice, the Sun Times's best of the year list twice, and WBEZ's Top Ten Shows of the Decade. In six years of Jeff Eligibility, Steep has received 11 Jeff Nominations and has won the 2009 Jeff Award for Best Ensemble (In Arabia We'd All Be Kings), the 2010 Jeff Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Harper Regan), and the 2011 Jeff Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (A Brief History of Helen of Troy). Steep was named the 2010 Broadway in Chicago Emerging Theatre Award Winner.

Moment will run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sunday evenings at 7pm from September 28th through Saturday, October 27th. Tickets for the extension are $30 and can be purchased by calling (773) 975-8150 or by visiting www.steeptheatre.com. Theatre Wit is located at 1229 West Belmont in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.
