Stars to Give Audiences 'Nothin' but a Good Time' in ROCK OF AGES at Drury Lane; Cast Announced!

Drury Lane Theatre announces comPete Casting for the next show of its 2017-2018 season, the regional premiere of the powerhouse musical tribute to the 1980s, Rock of Ages, with book by Chris D'Arienzo, arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp, and directed by Scott Weinstein.

Rock of Ages runs August 24 - October 15, 2017 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. The Press Opening is Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 8:00 p.m.

Principle casting includes: Russell Mernagh (Drew), Cherry Torres (Sherrie), Nicholas Druzbanski (Lonny), Adam Michaels (Stacee Jaxx), and Gene Weygandt (Dennis) with Nick Cosgrove (Franz), George Keating (Hertz), Donica Lynn (Justice), and Tiffany Tatreau (Regina). Additional casting includes: Andrea Collier, Annie Joe Ermel, Michael Ferraro, Shariesse Hamilton, Colte Julian, Ron King, Lindsay Prerost, and Sawyer Smith.

In addition to Director Scott Weinstein, the creative team also includes Stephanie Klemons (choreography), Roberta Duchak (music direction), Jeffrey D. Kmiec (scenic design), Theresa Ham (costume design), Greg Hofmann (lighting design), Ray Nardelli (sound design) and Rasean Davonte Johnson (projection design). The production stage manager is Larry Baker.

We can't fight this feelin' anymore! Rock back to a time of big egos, big guitar solos, and even bigger hair with Rock of Ages. Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Rock of Ages features 28 classic 80s hits from legendary artists Bon Jovi, Journey, Styx, Pat Benatar, Poison, REO Speedwagon and more. Audiences will have "Nothin' but a Good Time" as they jam out to reimagined renditions and mash-ups of "Don't Stop Believin,'" "Here I Go Again," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "The Final Countdown," and other rock favorites in this Regional Premiere. Set during the tail end of the big, bad 1980s, Rock of Ages follows aspiring rock star Drew and small-town girl Sherri as they fight to save Hollywood's Sunset Strip. Don't miss a musical so awesome, you'll want to rock out again and again! Scott Weinstein, 2015 Joseph Jefferson Award winner for production and direction of his astonishing staging of Rent, directs Rock of Ages, with choreography by Drama Desk Award-winner Stephanie Klemons, who most recently served as associate choreographer for Hamilton.

Rock of Ages is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Previews run August 24 - September 6, 2017, with a press opening on Thursday, September 7 at 8 p.m. and regular performances through October 15, 2017, playing Wednesdays: 1:30 p.m.; Thursdays: 1:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; Fridays: 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays: 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.; and Sundays: 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Drury Lane Theatre at 100 Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace.

Ticket Prices: Previews: $43 - $58; Single Tickets: $45 - $60; Wednesday and Thursday matinees are priced at $45, Thursday and Sunday evenings at $55, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday matinee performances at $60. Drury Lane Theatre's 2017/2018 season also includes the Pulitzer-winning play The Gin Game featuring Chicago theatre legends John Reeger and Paula Scrofano-Reeger, playing June 22 - August 13, 2017. For the holiday season Drury Lane will stage beloved tap classic 42nd Street and then close its 17/18 season with the iconic Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
