Stage Left Theatre announces that Lacey Holmes will assume the position of Managing Director beginning July 18th, 2011.

Lacey Holmes' experience includes audience services at Steppenwolf Theater, Broadway in Chicago, Theater on the Lake and Writers Theater. She also served as Contract Associate at Actor's Equity for two years. Lacey received her B.A. Degree in Theater Arts from Alfred University, Alfred, New York and her Masters of Arts Management Degree from Columbia College Chicago. She is also a graduate of the Non Profit Internship Program at the Cleveland Foundation. Lacey says, "My love for the theatre and its commitment to the community falls in line with Stage Left's mission to spark debate about important issues. I am excited for this opportunity to serve this vital Chicago institution."

Hired in 2008, current Managing Director Laura Blegen departs her position to pursue an MBA at The University of Wisconsin at Madison. Ms. Blegen says, "Leaving Stage Left after 3 years in this role is bittersweet, but I am pleased to be leaving the company in such capable hands. I think that Lacey's training and experience make her a great match for the exciting plans that Stage Left has for the next few years."

Lacey Holmes was chosen after a three month search process conducted by a committee consisting of board and ensemble members and headed by board president Matthew Groch. Artistic Director Vance Smith says "Laura Blegen guided the company through a phase of intense transition. Her contributions and dedication have been invaluable and we wish her very best as she enters this next phase of her professional life. We are grateful to have found Lacey, whose background is particularly well suited to the set of initiatives we plan to pursue as we grow into our situation as a resident company at Theater Wit."
