Stage 773 Partners with Other Chicago Theaters for ALL IN THE TIMING

By:

Following the wildly successful Chekhov One Act Festival in Fall 2014, Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Avenue, Chicago, is proud to present the clever, critically acclaimed sextet of one act comedies, ALL IN THE TIMING, as Stage 773's Spring One Act Festival, opening March 20 and running every Friday at 8:15 p.m. through April 17. Written by legendary playwright David Ives, the playful series of award-winning comedies combines wit, intellect, satire and all-around fun. In a unique twist, each scene will be presented by a different Chicago theater, hitting the heart of Stage 773's mission to connect Chicago Theater. Hobo Junction, Organic Theater Company, (Re)Discover Theatre, The Ruckus, and Red Theater Chicago join Stage 773 for this creative event.

ALL IN THE TIMING is sure to please comedy audiences with its eclectic mix of acts. The New York Times praised the comedic genius behind ALL IN THE TIMING, stating the show is "like sketches for some hilarious, celestially conceived revue...a master of fun." With monkeys writing Hamlet, a wildly comic language lesson, a twilight zone known as "a Philadelphia," and more, six of Chicago's leading theater companies join forces to produce one play is exciting, challenging, and rare.

"We're thrilled to bring back three of the four companies who participated in the Chekhov One Act Festival last Fall," says Stage 773 Creative Director Brian Posen. "The companies produced hilarious adaptations of Anton Chekhov's most popular one act comedies for the festival and we're looking forward to building on that momentum for another successful event this Spring."

As part of ALL IN THE TIMING's comedy sextet, Hobo Junction Productions will present the first scene- a contemporary boy-meets-girl comedy entitled "Sure Thing." The Organic Theater Company follows with a monkey's take on the writing of Hamlet, "Words, Words, Words," followed by (Re)Discover Theatre's rendition of hilarious verbalizations in "The Universal Language." The Ruckus will present the comedic musical vignette "Phillip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread," while Stage 773 will perform the Twilight-Zone-esque "The Philadelphia." Completing the line-up, Red Theater Chicago unfolds the final day of a Russian revolutionary in "Variations on the Death of Trotsky."

ALL IN THE TIMING will run in the Box Theater every Friday from March 20 through April 17 at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at http://bit.ly/1BWdWAk or by calling 773.327.5252.
