ShawChicago Theater Company presents George Bernard Shaw's CANDIDA from October 20, 2018 through November 12, 2018 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60610.

The play, set in 1898 in the northeast suburbs of London, tells the story of Candida, the wife of a famous clergyman, the Reverend James Mavor Morell. Reverend Morell is a celebrated and adored by his parishioners. At home all is peace and harmony as his "perfect" wife, Candida, keeps troubles at bay-until James rescues a homeless young poet, Marchbanks, and deposits him in the church rectory. Marchbanks falls head-over-heels in love with Candida, accelerating a contest between the priest and the poet for her affections. They demand that she choose between them. Who will win? Join us and find out.
