Second City's NUT-CRACKING HOLIDAY REVUE Set for Aurora's Copley Theatre, 12/6-22

By:

A Nutcracker with a different sort of holiday cheer will soon set up shop in downtown Aurora.

The Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue - a live comedy revue that aims The Second City's usual brand of brash and irreverent humor with laser beam focus at the foibles of the holiday season - returns for its annual run at the Copley Theatre, 8 E. Galena Blvd., December 6-22.

You've seen some of their brightest stars in TV and movies, and now Chicago's world-famous Second City is dispatching a talented troupe across the (Fox) River and through the woods to put grins on your face and laughs in your belly.

Even Rudolph should be worried when Second City National Touring Company members Rebecca Hanson, Abby McEnany, Scott Morehead, Dana Quercioli, Adam Schreck and Claudia Michelle Wallace unleash their whip-smart improvisation, hilarious and offbeat songs, and a willingness to skewer any seasonal topic you can name. As directed by Billy Bungeroth, with musical direction by Brad Kemp, nothing is too sacred for The Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue, a.k.a. the ideal alternative to the same old holiday shows.

Last season's revue sold out nearly every show in the intimate, 216-seat Copley Theatre, so get your tickets now if you don't want to be left out in the cold. Full bar service is available at all shows. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $35.

For tickets and information, go to ParamountAurora.com, call the Paramount Theatre box office, (630) 896-6666, or visit the Paramount box office (located directly across the street from the Copley, at 23 E. Galena Blvd.)

The Second City's Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue is rated R, and sponsored by CBK Global Enterprises.
