Russ Goeltenbodt to Perform Holiday Concert at Skokie Theatre, 12/5

By:
After acclaimed performance with his sold out concerts Let's Hear it For the Goy, and My Goyfriend's Back, your favorite "goyfriend," Chicago gay vocalist Russ Goeltenbodt returns with more music, mishigas, and mayhem in the holiday musical celebration Oy To The World. Join Russ and friends, as he brings holiday cheer and shares his highly personal story via music, on being the ultimate outsider: growing up Gay Catholic and celebrating Christmas in Skokie, the predominantly Jewish suburb of Chicago

Russ will also be joined by musical friends, including a very special performance from Chicago's Cabaret Queen and gay icon, the legendary one and only Denise Tomasello, guest vocalist Carla Gordon and special performance from Jan Slavin. Accompanying Russ on piano and as musical director is Bob Moreen.

This must-see concert takes place for one performance only at the Skokie Theatre, 7924 Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, on Saturday, December 5th at 8:00pm. Tickets are $20 for this special performance and are available by calling 847-677-7761 or online at www.skokietheatre.org.

Russ has had a life long passion for singing. Having lived in Skokie for over 30 years, Russ sang with various choirs in grade school and high school, to appearing in the musical Camelot at Niles North High School. He has participated and performed solos with church choirs including St. Peter's in Skokie and is currently singing at St. Gertrude's in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. Russ has also been a staple of Monday Nights Live at Petterino's and Davenport's open mic evenings.

Always dreaming of one day performing in his very own cabaret show. Russ came back home last fall to Skokie and fulfilled his life-long dream in the highly acclaimed, sold-out concert Let's Hear It For The Goy.. Hailed as "moving" and engaging" by New York's Cabaret Scenes Magazine, and followed it with another sol out concert My Goyfriends Back. This time Russ comes home again to celebrate the holidays with Oy To The World. In what promises to be an evening of more comedy, holiday stories of growing up in Skokie, and touching musical moments, that will make it another must-see experience.
