Riverfront Theater Postpones SPIRIT OF THE DANCE Indefinitely
Riverfront Theater, Chicago's newest entertainment destination, announces that, due to scheduling issues, the previously announced limited run of Spirit of the Dance has been postponed indefinitely. Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase.
Riverfront's next production, the highly anticipated La Soiree, begins performances on July 18, 2012. The theatrical phenomenon runs Wednesday, July 18 - Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the new Riverfront Theater, located at 650 W. Chicago Avenue, just east of Halsted Street.
Two other previously announced events-Rocket Man and Man in the Mirror-have also been postponed.
Producer Robert Butters comments, "At the new Riverfront Theater, we look forward to the greatly anticipated US Premiere of La Soiree. In the meantime, we are in the process of planning a quality inaugural season as one of Chicago's premier entertainment venues. The Riverfront Theater is a destination for high production values, great entertainment, pre- and post-show socializing and easy parking. We are committed to bringing the very best shows to Chicago's discerning audiences."
Winner of the 2012 London Cabaret Awards, La Soiree combines cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety. The sexy, funny, dangerous world of La Soiree has enchanted audiences across the globe in Edinburgh, Paris, Sydney, Stockholm, Dublin, Montreal, New York, Adelaide and Blackpool. La Soiree's internationally-acclaimed artists include stars from La Clique, the Olivier Award-winning show which ran at London's Hippodrome for nine months. La Soiree is a dynamic collective of some of the most outrageous, hilarious, beautiful and downright bizarre acts you will ever see.
La Soiree runs Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8:00pm.; Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
