Redtwist Theatre Announces DARK RED Late Night Series, Begin. with DATES FROM HELL, 5/31

By:

Redtwist Theatre has announced their new DARK RED series, a late-night rotating rep performed on the regular MAIN REDTWIST Season, as well as the upcoming MORE RED Series.

New resident playwright, Scott Woldman, has written a "Luv Cycle" starting with the moment a couple meet, and following them all the way through their courtship, engagement, break-up, make-up, marriage, family, divorce, dating, and remarriage. There have been loads of love stories and reams of romantic comedies BUT there has never been anything quite like Scott's "Luv Cycle"

This first phase of the "Luv Cycle" examines the many ways a simple date can turn into a complicated mess.

Scott Woldman is thrilled to be joining Redtwist Theatre as Resident Playwright where he will be helping to create Redtwist Theatre's exciting new Dark Red (late night) series. Scott is also the Resident Playwright at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights where he wrote the plays for the Metropolis's incredibly popular After Dark series (more than 30,000 people have seen Scott's Metropolis shows!), including Men Exposed, Dinner for Sex, Dates from Hell and Speed Dating The Musical. Scott's work has also appeared at Stage Left Theatre, The Artistic Home, The Second City, Chicago Dramatists, Strangeloop Theatre, Third Eye Theatre, and Ourobos Theatre Company. Scott has also optioned two screenplays--The Mine, a horror film which will be in movie theater's in limited release the summer of 2013, and Drunk And Ready which begins production in 2013.
