Random Acts has announced the second #safespace event, hosted by comedian Brittany Meyer and taking place at Mrs. Murphy's and Sons Irish Bistro (3905 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago) on Sunday, April 22nd at 6pm. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Trans Lifeline.

In addition to Meyer, the evening will feature a diverse ensemble of talent to be announced. The first iteration of the monthly series took place on March 19th and was hosted by Sadieh Rifai (Amazon's Patriot). The evening featured all female and non-binary talent performing music, comedy, burlesque and theatrical pieces. Proceeds benefitted Planned Parenthood.

Donations will be collected via cash/card at the event. For each $5 donated, patrons will be entered into a raffle for a prize basket. Food and drinks can be purchased from Mrs. Murphy's throughout the entire evening.

Brittany Meyer (they/them) is a FORCE. With just three years on the scene in the Chicago comedy scene, they've become a powerful voice for the LGBTQAI+ community. Their work features biting wit and a true underlying sweetness that pulls you in and draws the laughter out. It's truly a case study in how to perfectly punch up. If you don't relate to them, you're dead inside.

They produce Strip Joker, a wildly successful body-positive showcase featuring diverse bodies, voices, and states of undress. When not producing Strip Joker or Chicago mainstay Tuxedo Cat Comedy, Brittany tells jokes all over the city. They've traveled the country performing comedy and featured in festivals including Cream City Comedy, Memphis Comedy Fest, and Lady Laughs. They also make mincemeat of opponents regularly as Stone Cold Jane Austen in the Chicago League of Lady Wrestlers. For more about Brittany, visit www.brittanymeyerdoesthat.com.
