Quest Theatre Ensemble Presents BLUE NATIVITY, Opening 1/1

By:

Quest Theatre Ensemble rings in the new year with it's 11th annual production of BLUE NATIVITY on Tuesday, January 1st, 2012 at 5:00 pm. The show will take place at St. Gregory the Great Church, 5535 North Paulina in Chicago. The performance is free to the public. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Conceived and directed by Quest's Artistic Director Andy Park, Blue Nativity tells the true story of Christmas and the birth of Christ with beautiful large-scale puppetry with accompanying live music. Suitable for audience of all ages and a favorite of families, Blue Nativity breaks the mold of Holiday productions, telling "the greatest story ever told" with original puppets guaranteed to dazzle and live music enhancing the experience.

Having just celebrated its tenth anniversary of bringing free theatre to Chicago, Quest's productions feature their unique style of puppetry, whimsical humor and poignant message of art for everyone in every production. Quest believes in non-exclusionary art, and therefore does not charge for their productions.. Mayor Richard Daley described Quest as, "The theatre with a conscience!"

A free post show reception will follow the performance at The Blue Theater, 1609 W. Gregory (one block east of the church). The reception includes food, raffles and entertainment. For more information, visit www.questensemble.org or call (312) 458-0895.

Quest Theatre Ensemble is dedicated to being the People's Theater of Chicago. Whether in reverent procession down the Gothic aisles of a quiet sanctuary, parading festively through the crowded streets of Chicago, or creating magical spectacles from behind the footlights on the stage, Quest creates visual and meaningful productions that "inform, delight, inspire and unite." Committed to making theatre accessible to everyone, the Ensemble chooses stories that have universal appeal and finds innovative ways to engage the community.
