Provision's Theater For Young Audiences to Stage THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER!

This holiday season Provision Theater Company's Theater for Young Audiences will present Barbara Robinson's THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER!.

The sixty minute, family-friendly adaptation will run November 28 - December 20 with performances on Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. at Provision Theater, 1001 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608. Special matinee performances will be held on December 2, 9, and 16 at 10:00 a.m.

When the Herdmans (the nastiest kids in the neighborhood) decide they want to be in this year's Christmas pageant, everyone is sure it will be a disaster. But when the curtain finally goes up, a miracle happens-making it the best ever! This hilarious and heartwarming comedy, filled with singing and music, makes a firm statement about the transformative power of the holiday season-not to mention the transformative power of theatre.

"I love this story because I think it's familiar on one level. It's the story of a Christmas pageant, that could and does go on in just about every church, every Christmas, every year, and that's the charm of it," says Timothy Gregory, Provision Theater's Artistic Director. "But when the Herdmans-'the worst kids in the history of the world'-get involved in the Christmas pageant, the story that we've all heard every year takes on new meaning. New meaning because the Herdmans have never heard the Christmas story before, and so when they hear it, the words aren't just words, they mean something. Something fresh and profound...and funny."

The cast of THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER! includes Telah Amauri, Suzy Brack, Keith Cavanaugh, Sofia DeCarlo, Graceyn Dowd, Lucia Duffy, Audrey Edwards, Cheryl Golemo, Evelyn Halbach, Jon Hatje, Anderson Jerome-Darr, Mabel Lopez, Rachel Miller, Joseph Pope-Nelson, Kei Rawlins, Kelly Reiter, Keta Roth, Brendan Sullivan, Alexia Wolf, and Michael Wollner.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER! will be directed by Timothy Gregory. The production team includes Scenic Designer and Technical Directer Carl Ulaazek, Props Designer Mary O'Dowd. Lighting Designer Chazz Malott, Sound Designer David Pierczynski, Costume Designer Paula Kenar, Composer Elliot Delman, Assistant Director Matt Super, Assistant Stage Manager Jessica Banaszack, and Production & Stage Manager Denise Savas.
