Photo Flash: First Look at Raven Theatre Company's THE PLAY ABOUT MY DAD
THE PLAY ABOUT MY DAD, by Boo Killebrew, which opened at New York's 59E59 Theatres in June 2011, tells of the author's father, a doctor in Gulfport, Mississippi who stayed behind to take care of patients as Hurricane Katrina hit in August 2005. The play will be performed in Raven's intimate West Stage space. The production officially opens tonight, October 27, and runs through November 28, 2015. The characters' fights for survival against the storm are played against the backdrop of the doctor's relationship with his adult daughter, the playwright herself. Marti Lyons, Michael Maggio Directing Fellow at the Goodman Theatre and director of such recent productions as Body and Blood at The Gift, Will Eno's Title and Deed at Lookingglass and Hot Georgia Sunday with Haven Theatre Company, will make her Raven Theatre debut as director.
The cast will include Tuckie White (Boo Killebrew), Joe Mack (Larry Killebrew), JoAnn Montemurro (Sallye Killebrew), Patrick Agada (Kenny Tyson), Nick Horst (Neil Plitt), Aaron Lamm and Henry Stegemann (alternating as Michael Thomas), Paloma Nozicka (Rena Thomas), Miguel Nunez (Jay Thomas), Sandra Watson (Essie Watson), Jen Bosworth (U/S Rena Thomas), TJ Crawford (U/S Neil Plitt, Kenny Tyson), Felisha McNeal (U/S Essie), Angela Sandall (U/S Boo), Scot West (U/S Larry Killebrew, Jay Thomas).
The creative team includes Michael Stanfill and Rebecca A. Barrett (Lighting Design), Courtney O'Neill (Set Design), Chris LaPorte (Sound Design), Kristy Leigh Hall (Costume Design), Amanda Herrmann (Properties Design), Merje Veski (Scenic Artits), Elyse Dolan (Assistant Director), Alan Weusthoff (Technical Director), Tara Malpass (Stage Manager), Elysse AZ Bacig (Assistant Stage Manager), Kelly Claussen (Production Manager), Jason K.
