Chicago Shakespeare Theater brings The National Theatre of Scotland back to Chicago for CST's World's Stage Series on the heels of its acclaimed production of Black Watch, presented by CST at the Chicago Park District's Broadway Armory. See photos from LONG GONE LONESOME below!

In a display of versatility in use of space and theatrical styles, The National Theatre of Scotland's Long Gone Lonesome will be performed at eclectic local music venue The Hideout. This music-driven production featuring the Lone Star Swing Band celebrates the life of Thomas Fraser, a fisherman from the remote island of Burra, Shetland, who was one of Scotland's least known but most fascinating musical heroes. Obsessed with country and the blues, Thomas mastered the styles of his idols and created thousands of tape recordings in the privacy of his home-which were discovered and reissued to CDs 25 years after his death, spreading his fame to Nashville.

Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this season, Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) is a leading international theater company, known for vibrant productions that reflect Shakespeare's genius for intricate storytelling, musicality of language and depth of feeling for the human condition. Recipient of the 2008 Regional Theatre Tony Award, Chicago Shakespeare's work has been recognized internationally with three of London's prestigious Laurence Olivier Awards, and by the Chicago theater community with 62 Joseph Jefferson Awards for Artistic Excellence. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Barbara Gaines and Executive Director Criss Henderson, CST is dedicated to producing extraordinary classic productions, new works and family fare; unlocking Shakespeare's work for educators and students; and serving as Chicago's cultural ambassador through its World's Stage Series.
