Performance Artist Tim Miller Ends Master Class at Victory Gardens, 3/22

Between performances of his newest piece Lay of the Land, Tim Miller joined a group of like-minded artists in an intensive week-long workshop exploring the creation of original personal performance. The Master Class will end its run at Victory Gardens on March 22nd.

Tim will share a variety of strategies for mining the tremendous energies and stories in our lives and transforming them into theater. Using personal memories and myths as a jumping off point, participants will see how a deep sense of one's own history creates performances that jump out from the body onto the stage.

Tim Miller is an internationally acclaimed performance artist whose one-man shows are emotional, abrasive, pointed and often political examinations of the queer experience conveyed through his words and (sometimes naked) body. He is the author of several books including 1001 BEDS, which won the 2007 literary prize for best Drama-Theater book from Lambda Literary Foundation. He has taught at UCLA and Cal State L.A.
