Noble Fool Theatricals Seeks Youth Actors For Next Youth Ensemble Show

By:

The Noble Fool Theatricals Performing Arts Academy invites local youth ages 8 - 18 to audition for a role in the Youth Ensemble's fall production of Disney's Sleeping Beauty at Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; admin telephone 630-443-0438).

Open auditions will be held on the Preservation Hall Studio Stage at Pheasant Run on Thursday, September 10, from 6:00 - 9:00pm or on the Pheasant Run Mainstage on Sunday, September 13 from 5:00 - 9:00pm. No appointment is necessary.

Interested children should prepare and memorize a one-minute monologue and 16 bars of a song that best displays their talent. An accompanist will be provided, so children should bring sheet music. Everyone will be taught a dance combination at the audition; previous dance training is helpful but not required. Children may also be asked to do a cold reading from the script. Everyone should bring a headshot and a resume to the audition.

It's Princess Aurora's sixteenth birthday, and her three colorful Aunts must use their fairy magic to save her from the spell of an evil sorceress. This classic fairytale features memorable songs from the beloved film including "Once Upon a Dream" as well as added fun songs for new generations to fall in love with!

"Our summer youth ensemble production of Disney's High School Musical 2 was such a success - from a record turnout at auditions to sold out and added performances, word has begun to spread about this great youth ensemble program," says Education Manager Tracy Whiteside. "And we're excited to continue our 2009 season with another Disney classic, one that I hope will bring us as much success as our summer show."

The NFT Youth Ensemble will present Sleeping Beauty for the public on the Mainstage at Pheasant Run on the following dates: November 28, December 5, 12, 19; Saturday @ 10:30am, and December 13; Sunday @ 7pm. Student Field Trips are available on December 4; Friday at 10:30am.

Director/Choreographer is Patrick Stinson of Plano and Musical Director is Wayne resident Ken Jones. This will be the tenth NFT Youth Ensemble production, which keeps growing in size and talent with past shows such as High School Musical 1 & 2, Annie and Cinderella.

The NFT Youth Ensemble is an exclusive, audition-only education program for the best and brightest young talent. Participants are responsible for memorizing lines, music and choreography. Members learn the craft of theater through the process of preparing for live performances. Youth Ensemble performances are produced, directed and performed on the Mainstage in the same manner as Noble Fool's professional Theater Productions.

The Noble Fool Performing Arts Academy is a non-profit organization. The academy features some of the Chicago area's most respected teachers, directors, actors and musicians.
