New Stand-ups, New Show Times Slated for 2017 at UP Comedy Club

UP Comedy Club is ready for winter with a slate of new stand-ups in January and the return of our hit show #DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment in February.

UP is also starting 2017 with updated show times! Prime time performances will now take place at 7:00pm with late shows at 10:00pm. As always, UP Comedy Club features a full-service kitchen and bar with no drink minimums.

Rory Scovel recently finished shooting the New Line feature The House, alongside Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, as well as The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter for director Jody Hill alongside Danny McBride and Josh Brolin. Some of his television credits include the TBS series Ground Floor as well as the NBC series Undateable, ABC's Modern Family, F/X's The Comedians and the upcoming original series Those Who Can't for TruTV. Last year Rory also starred alongside Demetri Martin in Demetri's directorial debut Dean which premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, and his new hour- stand up special is available on Seeso.

Janelle James is a New York based comedian that can be seen on NBC Seeso's Night Train with Wyatt Cenac, @midnight on Comedy Central and Uproarious on Fuse (2016). She was included in the Just For Laughs Montreal's New Faces category for 2016, named one of the The 50 Most Funny People in Brooklyn 2016 and has been featured for her outstanding performance ability in the The New York Times, Portland Tribune and Time Out Magazine.

Alingon is a stand-up comedian and comedy writer living in New York. He currently writes for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Comedy Central and, prior to that, he staffed on Adam Ruins Everything for TruTV. He has appeared as a stand-up on Conan, Last Comic Standing, Late Night with Craig Ferguson, and Adam Devine's House Party Special. He was selected as a new face at Just For Laughs Montreal. He graduated from Harvard, where he was a writer for the illustrious Harvard Lampoon.

One of the nation's top touring stand-up comics, Godfrey is also in high demand as an actor, appearing in the films Zoolander, Original Gangstas and Soul Plane. He has also made multiple appearances on Louie, BET's Comic View and VH1's I Love the...series. Godfrey has also been a cast member on the first season of The It Factor, starred in a major series of commercials for 7UP, filmed an hour-long stand-up special for Comedy Central and appeared on NBC's 30 Rock. Long story short -- Godfrey is one seriously busy (and funny) man. Catch him at UP Comedy Club as he returns to his hometown of Chicago and brings an arsenal of amusing characters and witticisms along for the ride.

UP is thrilled to bring back UPSCALE: An Evening Of Live Jazz & Stand-UP

Each show features top local Chicago comics and live jazz by K&L Duo. K&L Duo is what happens when Chicago-based music producers Alex Kliner and Packy Lundholm play music together. A fresh take on a traditional piano/drums jazz duo, Alex and Packy incorporate electronic instruments and sequencers in their music to create high-energy and unexpected instrumental arrangements of jazz standards and contemporary pop songs alike.

Hosts and performers scheduled to appear: Sammy Arechar, Joel Boyd, Adam Burke, Erica Clark, Sherman Edwards, Calvin Evans, Paul Farahvar, Andrew Frees, Dave Helem, Alex Kumin, Felonius Munk, Rebecca O'Neal, Kristen Toomey, and Joey Villagomez.
