Michael Shannon to Emcee A Red Orchid's Annual Benefit at Boka, 9/19

A Red Orchid Theatre's Board of Directors will host the Company's annual benefit, Wet Your Whistle While You Water the Orchid on September 19, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Boka Restaurant, 1729 N. Halsted. The intimate event will be emceed by founding Ensemble Member, Oscar Nominee and star of HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," Michael Shannon.

The lively and casual event will feature a selection of Boka's extraordinary hors d'oeuvres and a new, signature Red Orchid cocktail, as well as live performances from A Red Orchid's fearless Ensemble, to include a sneak-peak at the 2011-12 Season. The Wet Your Whistle... silent auction will offer exclusive packages including deluxe vacations, a special day on Lake Michigan, premiere wine tastings, fine art, and signed memorabilia from HBO's hit series, "Boardwalk Empire" and the new Superman feature film, "Man of Steel."

The Benefit Host committee includes committee chair Ann McCartney, Ensemble Member Mierka Girten, Ensemble Member Larry Grimm, Ensemble Member Karen Kawa, Vera Kimmi, Giulia Sindler, Jennifer Sultz, Ensemble Member Guy VanSwearingen, and Ensemble Member Natalie West. The AROT Board of Directors includes Co-President Chadd Taylor, Co-President Michael Fatall, Darren Guccione, Pam Harrington, Steve Kreynin, Ann McCartney, Ensemble Member Michael Shannon, James Shimota, Giulia Sindler and Ensemble Member Guy Van Swearingen.
