MARY POPPINS Cast Set To Appear At Open Mic Cabaret Showcase 6/8

By:

The place will be "hoppin" when Petterino's (150 N. Dearborn St.), located in the heart of the Theater District, presents guests singers from The Cast of Mary Poppins, currently playing at the neighboring Cadillac Palace Theatre, at its "Monday Night Live" on Monday, June 8 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The popular "open mic" weekly evening of talent is co-hosted by Denise McGowan and Beckie Menzie. Guests can enjoy the performance while sipping cocktails and enjoying Petterino's lighter menu of appetizers, sandwiches and salads, as well as the full menu.

A $15 per person dining minimum is required for a table at "Monday Night Live." Reservations are recommended but not required and can be made by calling Petterino's at 312-422-0150.

Produced by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, Mary Poppins has entertained thousands of Chicagoans since launching its National Tour in Chicago on March 11, 2009. The production will play through July 12, 2009 only at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Mary Poppins features the two original Broadway stars, Ashley Brown as "Mary Poppins" and Gavin Lee as "Bert." A co-production by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, this stage production is based on P.L. Travers' cherished stories and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film. The show includes the Academy Award®-winning music and lyrics of Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The stage production has been created, in collaboration with Cameron Mackintosh, by Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, who has written the book, and the Olivier Award-winning team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, who have composed new songs and additional music and lyrics.

Named after Arturo Petterino, the legendary maitre d' of Chicago's renowned Pump Room, Petterino's specializes in a wide variety of "comfort food" dishes prepared with simple and classic ingredients. A favorite spot for theatergoers and area business workers, Petterino's imparts a sultry air of 1940's glamour and excitement to downtown Chicago in a comfortable, classy atmosphere.
