Li'l Buds Theatre Company to Stage TINSEL! THE MUSICAL This December

By:

Li'l Buds Theatre Company presents TINSEL! THE MUSICAL. This original musical for families was co-written by Li'l Buds Co-founder and Artistic Director J. Preddie Predmore, Co-Founder Jenny Lamb, and the Jeff award winning and recently nominated for best supporting actress in a musical for the Goodman Theatre's revival of Brigadoon!, Maggie Portman.

Music was written by Chuck Patella and Jenny Lamb with special arrangements by Christopher Damiano. This is a sequel to last years highly successful original musical Those Silly Reindeer! Li'l Buds continues it's tradition of casting professional actors and children together to create a high quality theatrical experience that speaks to kid and adult audiences alike.

Telling the story of a nearsighted reindeer's rise from life as a clumsy waitress in Frosty's diner to her overnight fame as popular recording artist, TINSEL! THE MUSICAL will put the star on top of your holiday season with its unique blend of country, jazz, blues, broadway and pop music. TINSEL! THE MUSICAL (a sequel to last year's FROSTY'S SHAKES 'N' DOGS which was a prequel to the previous year's THOSE SILLY REINDEER!) teaches young audience members about the pitfalls of fame and the rewards of being true to yourself.

Li'l Buds Theatre is a ten year-old 501c3 company dedicated to enriching the lives of children of all backgrounds through theatre and the performing arts. Each year we produce two main stage shows for families in the winter and in the spring, including our extremely popular original holiday musical series written by 2 time Jeff Award winning actress Maggie Portman, critically acclaimed actress Jenny Lamb, and Rogers Park actor J. Preddie Predmore. Li'l Buds also holds classes, workshops, camps and residencies at our soon to be opened new theatre the Edge Theater located at 5451 N. Broadway and at many schools and theaters across Chicago. Our ensemble of teaching artists have worked with such companies as The Goodman Theatre, Broadway in Chicago, Drury Lane, Paramount Theatre, Porchlight, Blindfaith, Theo Ubique, Lifeline, Dog and Pony, A Red Orchid, Pegasus, Black Ensemble, Theatre Building, Congo Square and ATC, Wagon Wheel Theatre.

This January we will be taking permanent residence at the soon to be opened Edge Theatre located at 5451 N. Broadway. We will be producing shows and hosting a training academy for students aged 2 and above.
