Li'l Buds Theatre Company Presents PETER RABBIT AND ME, 4/13-5/5

Li'l Buds Theatre Company takes you on journey back in time as we bring the Victorian world and imaginative world of Beatrix Potter to life. This delightfully joyous dramatization of the beloved story of Peter Rabbit is brought to life by young Beatrix Potter age 13, a lonely yet imaginative girl who spends her day sketching and creating stories about the animals she studies.

Through the stories, Beatrix herself escapes the stuffy confines of Victorian society and is free to explore the world beyond her nursery window. She starts by writing about her beloved Rabbit Peter and his adventures in Mr. McGregor's garden. Using inspiration from the people around her, Beatrix creates the iconic characters of Mr. McGregor, Mother Rabbit, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, the mouse and the birds who help Peter along on his mischievous adventures. 'Peter Rabbit and Me' is filled with humor, adventure, and colorful characters that will spark the imagination of the young, and the young at heart.

April 13, 2013 through May 5th Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm with two evening performances on Monday April 22nd and Monday April 29th at 7:30 pm.

Performances will take place at the Rivendell Theatre located at 5779 N. Ridge Ave Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for senior citizens and children 12 and under. All tickets can be purchased through www.brownpapertickets.com

There is free parking at Senn High School parking lot, which is located 1 block (north)west on Ridge Avenue. The lot is only accessible off of Thorndale Avenue, which runs one way west. The Rivendell Theatre is also accessible by the CTA Red Line Bryn Mawr or Thorndale stops and by CTA Busses #84 Peterson, #22 Clark, or #36 Broadway. The theatre is handicap accessible.

Li'l Buds Theatre is a seven year- old company dedicated to enriching the lives of children of all backgrounds through theatre and the performing arts. Each year we produce two main stage shows for families including our extremely popular original holiday musical series in the winter and a play in the spring. Li'l Buds also holds classes, workshops, camps and residencies at many schools and theaters including Frances Xavier Warde, Catherine Cook, Polaris, Jewish Day School, Drummond Elementary, Greenhouse Theatre Center and The Artistic Home. Our ensemble of artists have worked with such companies and theaters as Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, The Goodman, The Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Broadway in Chicago, Drury Lane, Paramount Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Blindfaith, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre, Lifeline, Dog and Pony, A Red Orchid, Pegasus Players, Black Ensemble, Theatre Building Chicago, Congo Square, Light Opera Works and ATC. Peter Rabbit and Me continues the Li'l Buds tradition of employing youth actors as well as professional adult actors in all of our productions, providing them with the opportunity to work alongside working actors in a mentorship environment.
