Light Opera Works Presents MAN OF LA MANCHA, 8/11-26
In this 1965 musical, Don Quixote and his faithful servant Sancho Panza go on their thrilling ride to battle evil, rescue maidens and right all wrongs. The score includes "The Impossible Dream," "Dulcinea," and "I, Don Quixote."
The original Broadway production ran 2,329 performances, and won Tony Awards for its composer, lyricist, director, designer and star Richard Kiley.
The previous Light Opera Works production of the show was in August 2000.
MAN OF LA MANCHA is directed and choreographed by Light Opera Works artistic director Rudy Hogenmiller, and conducted by Nyela Basney.
Casting for MAN OF LA MANCHA includes James Harms (Cervantes/Don Quixote), Colette Todd (Aldonza) and Cary Lovett (Sancho Panza). Also Alex Honzen (Governor/Innkeeper), Edward MacLennan (Duke/Dr. Carasco), Bill Chamberlain (Padre), Peter Eli Johnson (Barber), Sarah Blevins (Maria), Jordan Yentz (Antonia) and Yvonne Strumecki (Housekeeper).
The design/production team for MAN OF LA MANCHA includes Adam L. Veness (scenic), Jesus Perez (costume), Sienna Macedon-Kusek (hair and make-up), Andrew H. Meyers (lighting), Chris Kusek (sound), Julie Eberhardt (properties), Tom Campbell (stage manager) and Katie Beeks (production manager).
MAN OF LA MANCHA is Light Opera Works' second production of 2012. The season will continue with OPERETTA'S GREATEST HITS (October 5-14) and OLIVER! (December 22-31).
