Lifeline Theatre artistic director Dorothy Milne and festival curator, former Live Bait Theater artistic director Sharon Evans, are pleased to announce the 15th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, produced by Lifeline Theatre, July 21-August 7. The solo performance and storytelling festival - featuring the work of 13 Chicagoans, a trio of New Yorkers, and a writer/performer currently based in Los Angeles - will perform at Lifeline Theatre (6912 N. Glenwood Ave.) and Heartland Studio Theatre (7016 N. Glenwood Ave.), with a final performance at Mayne Stage (1328 W. Morse Ave.), all located in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. Regular performance times will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., with a final performance on Sunday, August 7 at 5 p.m.

The 2011 Fillet of Solo Festival includes new work by local favorites such as the Sweat Girls (18-year veterans of the Chicago storytelling scene), 2nd Story members Julie Ganey, Deb R. Lewis, Kim Morris and Matt Miller; Story Lab Chicago founder Scott Whitehair; plus Kelli Strickland, and Eric Warner. Additionally, several pieces with national exposure will make appearances at the 2011 Fillet of Solo Festival:
· Second City alum Jimmy Doyle's Must Be Nice recently previewed at the Comedy Central stage at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles.
· Victory Gardens Playwrights Ensemble member Jeffrey Sweet's You Only Shoot the Ones You Love has played at Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York and will appear at the upcoming 2011 New York International Fringe Festival.
· Jenny Allen's I Got Sick Then I Got Better (directed by James Lapine and Darren Katz) has been seen in theaters, hospitals, universities and at cancer conferences around the country.
· James Braly's Life in a Marital Institution (produced by Meredith Vieira Productions) premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, had a sold out run at 59E59 Theaters in New York City, before transferring Off Broadway to critical raves at the Soho Playhouse.
Additionally, the 2011 Fillet of Solo Festival will also feature world premiere pieces by members of the Lifeline Storytelling Project, a new incubation program for young professional performers to participate in solo writing/performing workshops led by Lifeline Theatre Artistic Director Dorothy Milne and Ensemble Member Jenifer Tyler, both veterans of the Chicago solo performance scene.
