League of Chicago Theatres to Open New Hot Tix Location this Month

The League of Chicago Theatres announces the expansion of its Hot Tix half-price ticket program with a new walk-up location in Block Thirty Seven, Shops at 108 N. State, to open July 2013.

The Hot Tix ticketing outlet will be located on the first floor of Block Thirty Seven in the Guest Services area. In addition to selling half-price tickets and providing information on Chicago theatre, the Hot Tix staff will serve as guest service representatives for Block Thirty Seven. The new location will be open every day of the week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A grand opening event is planned for Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"The League of Chicago Theatres is thrilled to partner with Block Thirty Seven to open a new Hot Tix location in Chicago. The new location will expand Hot Tix's reach to a wider retail and visitor audience while bringing additional foot traffic to Block Thirty Seven," says Deb Clapp, Executive Director of the League of Chicago Theatres. "Each year, more than 100,000 tickets are purchased through Hot Tix. The program is a proven success in bringing additional audiences to Chicago theatres and revenue to theatres of all sizes and in every neighborhood."

The League will continue to operate its other two Hot Tix half-price walk-up service locations: across from the Chicago Cultural Center at Expo72 (72 E. Randolph) and in the Water Works Visitor Information Center (163 E. Pearson). Half price tickets are also available through Hot Tix online at www.HotTix.org. Hot Tix offers half-price tickets to more than 200 Chicago area theatres, full price tickets to all Ticketmaster events including concerts and sports, and Play Money gift certificates. Hot Tix tickets are always half-price and may be purchased up to a week in advance of the performance.
