Jim Peterik to Play National Piano Conference at Raue Center, 6/25

By:

Raue Center For The Arts has announced a very special guest for the National Piano Conference. Grammy Award-winning songwriter, performer and producer Jim Peterik will perform his hit songs at 8 p.m. on June 25, 2016.

No history of Chicago rock would be complete without a chapter on Jim Peterik. As lead vocalist, lead guitarist and songwriter for The Ides of March from 1964 to 1973, Peterik helped propel the band to number one on the national charts with their horn-driven classic "Vehicle."

Peterik is also the co-founder of Survivor. Spanning nine albums from 1980 to 1993, Peterik was responsible for the keyboard work and some guitar work, as well as writing or co-writing all of Survivor's material. The band's greatest hits include: the triple platinum Grammy Award-winner "Eye of the Tiger" (co-produced by Peterik), which was commissioned by Sylvester Stallone for "Rocky III;" the number one single from 1985, "The Search is Over," and top ten singles "I Can't Hold Back," "Is This Love," "High On You," as well as "Burning Heart."

"With its ability to convey the gamut of human emotion by simply placing tones in a specific order and mastering the instrument's range of volume, the piano has solidified it's place as the most prominent instrument in both the educational and entertainment music culture," says Bobbi Paul, National Piano Conference Artistic Director. In celebration of the fifth annual National Piano Conference, Peterik will perform the coolest and sultriest versions of his hit songs.

Tickets start at $27 and may be purchased online at rauecenter.org or via the Box Office at 815.356.9212 or 26 N. Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake. This event is supported by the generosity of Michael and Sue Costigan. Raue Center's National Piano Conference is sponsored by: EISENMANN, Piano Trends Music and Band Company and Sage Products, Inc.
