Jazz vocalist Jenifer French celebrates the music of the legendary Peggy Lee, one of the greatest jazz vocalists and singer-songwriters of the 20th century in THE Peggy Lee LEGACY which has played to sold out audiences in Chicago over the past two years and now returns for an encore performance at Davenport's Piano Bar, 1383 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, Saturday, October 14 at 8pm.

There is a $22 cover charge and two-drink minimum. Due to high demand, reservations are strongly encouraged by calling 773-278-1830 or online at www.DavenportsPianoBar.com.

In The Peggy Lee Legacy, Jenifer French channels the essence of Miss Lee. Cabaret Scenes Magazines notes, "French captures Lee's compelling stillness in 'Is That All there Is?' and with the iconic 'Fever,' French captures the sassy wit and sexiness with aplomb." French shows she can really swing on iconic classics I Love Being Here with You and I'm Gonna Go Fishin'. The show also features lively renditions of other Lee signature songs such as Why Don't You Do Right?, Big Spender, He's a Tramp, and Manana. Backed by a superb jazz combo and alongside spectacular vocalists, Jenifer French recreates classic Peggy Lee songs with energy and skill.

The Peggy Lee Legacy showcases some of the top talent in Chicago jazz and cabaret. In addition to Jenifer French (vocals and emcee), the cast includes legendary Chuck Christiansen (best known as Steve and Eydie's longtime drummer and toured with Miss Lee in the '70s), crowd favorite Ann McGregor (vocals), beloved Chicago cabaret star Daryl Nitz (vocals and director), highly in-demand Joe Policastro (bass), multi-talented Jeannie Tanner (trumpet) and Broadway star Johnny Rodgers (vocals, piano and musical director).

Jenifer French has been performing in Chicago since 1999 in such iconic venues such as the Pump Room, Andy's Jazz, House of Blues (Chicago), Buddy Guy's Legends and Lush Life. She's also performed in New York at Don't Tell Mama's as well as venues in Los Angeles, and London, England. In 2002, Jenifer recorded her CD of jazz standards inspired by and in homage to Peggy Lee entitled Things Are Swingin'.

Often referred to as the "female Frank Sinatra," Miss Peggy Lee had a staggering six-decade career beginning with her early discovery in Chicago by the "King of Swing" Benny Goodman. Known for her sultry jazz singing prowess and hit songwriting skills, most notably for Disney's Lady and the Tramp, Lee was nominated for 12 Grammy Awards, winning in 1969 for Is That All There Is?

Those hits of a lifetime and the remarkable music of Peggy Lee are brought to life and given a new breath with the performance of Jenifer French & Friends in The Peggy Lee Legacy. Visit DavenportsPianoBar.com or JennyLovesJazz.com for further information.
